1.1. What is Wakerupper?
Wakerupper is a telephone reminder service that aims to make telephone alerts as simple as possible. Just enter the number of the phone you would like to be called, the time you want the call to be placed, and an optional 100-character reminder message. That's it - you will receive a call from Wakerupper at the time you have specified and your message will be delivered.
-
1.2. What information does Wakerupper collect when I use the service?
Wakerupper only collects information necessary to learn about and improve your experience with the service. For further details, please read our Privacy Policy.
-
1.3. Will you share my phone number or email address with spammers or telemarketers?
Absolutely not. Wakerupper does not share your information with anyone. For further details, please read the Wakerupper Privacy Policy.
-
1.4. I'd really like to try Wakerupper, but I don't live in North America. What should I do?
Currently Wakerupper only supports calls to telephone numbers in the U.S. and Canada. Inventive users have arranged to have Wakerupper call phones outside the service area by using a number in the U.S. (a Skype-In number, for example) to proxy Wakerupper calls to other countries.
-
1.5. When is Wakerupper going to be available in [my country]?
Please write to support@wakerupper.com and let us know in what country you reside. We look forward to expanding Wakerupper internationally. Your feedback helps us understand in which countries there is most demand.
-
1.6. Can I advertise on this service?
Wakerupper does not currently support advertisements. However, if you represent one or more giant brands, we are open to conversation. :)
-
1.7. How do you stop prank calls?
Wakerupper users are initially given the benefit of the doubt in that they are allowed to schedule calls to any number - as with regular fixed and mobile telephone services. However, unlike a regular telephone, if the recipient of a Wakerupper call indicates that they want to block further calls, the user who scheduled the call(s) is locked out of the system, and all calls scheduled by that user are cancelled. So, while Wakerupper is initially permissive, it takes a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of the service.
-
1.8. Where should I send feedback about the service?
Questions and comments are welcome at feedback@wakerupper.com. We can't wait to hear what you think.
-
1.9. Who are you?
Wakerupper is owned and operated by Abstract Factory, Inc. and is based in New York City.
Pricing & Billing
-
2.1. Why aren't you free anymore?
We are! Free telephone reminders are still available on the Wakerupper home page. However, premium features such as recurring calls, snooze, and voice reminders now carry a modest fee.
-
2.2. What is Wakerupper credit?
Wakerupper credit allows you to take advantage of premium features such as recurring calls, snooze, and voice reminders. Registered users may purchase Wakerupper credit from their account page.
-
2.3. How much does it cost?
Calls placed from the Wakerupper homepage are free, however the premium service carries a charge of 5¢ per minute. Keep in mind also that your telephone company may apply regular charges for receiving a phone call.
-
2.4. How do I know when I am scheduling a call if it will be free or not?
Any call scheduled while you are logged in will consume Wakerupper credit. New accounts are granted enough credit for 10 free calls so that new users may try the premium service. However, once the initial credit is used, you will need to purchase additional Wakerupper credit in order to continue using the premium service.
-
2.5. How about the Wakerupper mobile interface? Is that free?
Wakerupper mobile is part of the premium service. Calls scheduled via Wakerupper mobile consume Wakerupper credit.
-
2.6. Can I view my usage and balance online?
Absolutely. Usage and balance are available 24/7 via the Wakerupper web site. Sign in to Wakerupper, navigate to the 'Account' page, and you will find your current balance displayed prominently. You can also find a link to your billing history in the 'Billing' section of this page.
-
2.7. How are calls rounded?
All calls are rounded to the nearest minute. The vast majority of calls issued by Wakerupper are less than one minute in duration, so it is generally safe to assume calls will have a cost of 5¢ each.
-
2.8. I didn't receive my call. Did I get charged for it?
No. If any of your scheduled calls do not go through, you will not be charged for them. Calls are only charged after the calls are completed, not when the call is scheduled.
-
2.9. My call went to voicemail. Did I get charged for it?
Premium calls that go to voicemail are charged as regular calls. The reason for this is because Wakerupper doesn't have a way of detecting voicemail without first connecting the call, at which point we are being charged by our VoIP vendor.
-
2.10. I only use Wakerupper once in a while. Does Wakerupper credit expire?
Wakerupper Credit remains active for 90 days after your last use of a feature that uses credit. So making a single call will make sure your Wakerupper credit is active for a further 90 days.
-
2.11. What is your refund policy?
Wakerupper offers full refunds on your remaining pre-paid balance upon request for all payments made within 30 days. To request a refund, send email to support@wakerupper.com.

There is an option in all outbound Wakerupper calls to add the called number to the Wakerupper do-not-call list. You may also use the form on Wakerupper's opt-out page to add your number to the Wakerupper do-not-call list. -
3.2. I forgot my username.
Email us at support@wakerupper.com and provide us with a clue - usually an email address or phone number is sufficient.
-
3.3. My phone number was put on the Wakerupper do-not-call list by accident. How do I get it unblocked?
Place a call from the blocked phone to 415 325 4772 and leave us a brief message. Once the message has been received and we have been able to verify the phone number via caller id, we will unblock the number. You will receive a confirmation email once your number has been reinstated.
